“Many issues enter our world daily and urgently require our attention. As hardship continues to spread around the world, it is only natural that we are inspired to make a difference, eager to have whatever contribution we may make, and have enough weight behind it to yield considerable change.

The book transpired due to one reason – As a woman, I was inspired by the work UNIFEM do to grant women freedom around the world. As someone whose label is dedicated to the celebration of women, it was important for me to lend a voice to the many whispers of women who are denied their basic rights and privileges.

At the start of last year I created a “Women of the World” collection to take you on a journey that celebrates the different styles, cultures and lives of women around the world. At the same time, I came across women’s charity UNIFEM and was deeply moved by the amazing work they do to end women’s suffering across the globe.

Eager to help, I had an idea that the worldly pieces in the new collection would make a stunning coffee table book, the proceeds of which could go to UNIFEM. Enlisting a little help from my friends, I set about the imposing task of creating a powerful book that would change lives.

I thought, if I have the capability of creating an audience of this size with my label alone, I may as well put all the kudos to good use.

Soon after the idea was conceived, enchanted events transpired to give it wings. I was constantly met with

“Women of the World Angels” - powerful and talented women who would play an instrumental role in bringing this book to life.

I have chosen 15 of my favourite photographers to capture inspiring women from all walks of life as their subject and my willing models for the Women of the World collection.

These wonderful women were kind and generous enough to lend their time and beauty to this pertinent cause.

Thank you to all my angels – the photographers, models, sponsors, family and friends who turned my dream into reality. I am touched by the support I have received in creating the Women of the World book.

The solidarity I have encountered further proves the unquestionable bond that exists between all women. The women in this book have encountered their own hardships and joy. Working with them has opened my eyes to great lessons about embracing each living moment with passion, courage and a large dose of humour.

My dream for this beautiful book is to be a catalyst for compassion, inspiration and the uplifting of women everywhere. Women all over the world cry out for help. I hope this book allows you to hear their cries.”
